Newcastle Lions Club Support Approach’s Disability Friendly Allotment Project

Thank you very much to Newcastle-under-Lyme Lions Club who have donated £500 to Approach and our disability friendly allotment at the Brook Centre, Stanier Street.

In October, the Lion’s Club held a fundraising evening at Chinese Restaurant, Furama Palace in Trent Vale. It was a wonderful evening featuring a raffle, quizzes and of course, delicious Chinese food.

The funds raised from the evening will now be used to create an even pathway to allow wheelchair users within the group to have easy access to the allotment area. This facility; along with raised beds also planned for the area, will allow all group members to be involved with this activity.

Thank you to Newcastle Lions Club who organised this event to raise funds for Approach and for taking the time to visit the Men in Sheds group to find out what the club could do to make a difference to the groups members. Thank you also to Furama Palace in Trent Vale for the wonderful food, hospitality and a thoroughly enjoyable evening. Finally, thank you to all those who attended the evening and supported our cause.

The Men in Sheds group are thrilled to hear this news and are looking forward to watching the project take shape in the new year.

The Lions Club even arranged for a very special guest to present our team with the cheque from the evening.
