The Facts

Image 6 Confusion and Bewilderment are the key factors in the lives of people with Dementia, Alzheimer's Disease, Anxiety, Depression and other mental health needs.

Isolation and Helplessness often exist within both the person and their family because of reduced ability to communicate meaningfully. Life can be difficult for both the older person with mental health needs and their Carer.

Loneliness and Fear occur where a person with mental health needs may become agitated or withdrawn and bewildered when surrounded by too many people.

Who can make referrals?

Community psychiatric nurses, general practitioners, social workers and families can all make referrals.
A visit will be made to the person’s home to assess their suitability for the group.
